Who we are

THE MORTALITY ARCHIVE ("we", "us") is operated by Dylan Ratcliffe, 18 Morton Road, Ayr, KA7 2NN, United Kingdom. Email: mujo.archive@gmail.com. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the data controller of your personal information.

What we collect

  • Order information: name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number (if provided), and details of what you purchase.
  • Payment information: processed securely by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Marketing information: your email address, if you subscribe to our mailing list.
  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected via cookies when you browse the store.

How we use it

  • To fulfil and deliver your order, and to send you service emails about it (confirmation, production updates, dispatch, tracking). These emails are part of the contract and are not marketing.
  • To send marketing emails about future drops, only if you have opted in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the store.
  • To comply with legal obligations (tax and accounting records).

Legal bases

We process your data under: performance of a contract (orders and delivery), consent (marketing), legitimate interests (store security and improvement), and legal obligation (record-keeping).

Who we share it with

Shopify, which hosts our store and processes orders on our behalf; payment providers, to process your payment; delivery carriers, to ship your order; and email service providers, to send order and marketing emails. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

Our store uses cookies for essential functions (cart, checkout), analytics, and, where applicable, marketing. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for 6 years to meet UK tax requirements. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email mujo.archive@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page.
